The ESnet customer base is composed of researchers and research program managers in
universities, industry, and government agencies. We can classify our customer base as follows:
- direct users, including programs of the Office of Energy Research, Defense
Programs, Human Resources and Administration, and the Energy Information Administration;
other DOE offices; and national and international DOE collaborators
- those in the information technology community who benefit from program leadership in
networking and advanced technology developments
- others who benefit indirectly from the enhanced research programs supported by
program
services.
