ESnet Staff Contribute to CERN Meeting

January 28, 2020

Several ESnet staff participated in the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG) and LHC Open Network Environment (LHCONE) joint meeting, held January 13-14 at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland.

This meeting focused on the data architecture, computing model, and networking impacts of high-luminosity experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) – the world's largest and most powerful particle accelerator – and current challenges in LHC networking. Those attending from ESnet included Richard Cziva, Eli Dart, Patrick Dorn, Chin Guok, Bill Johnston, Michael O’Connor, and Kate Robinson.

Guok presented a talk on the SENSE project. O’Connor delivered an update on LHCONE with GÉANT’s Vincenzo Capone, while Richard Cziva gave a talk on ESnet6 High Touch Services at Special Interest Group on Next Generation Networks (SIG-NGN).
