Bonnie Powell

Bonnie Powell oversees external and internal communications for ESnet, as well as the  Culture & Engagement program. She joined ESnet in 2023 from the national college-access nonprofit College Track, after previously serving for 10 years as the director of communications for Bon Appétit Management Company, a billion-dollar corporation with operations in 36 states. 

Bonnie began her career as an editor and reporter covering the business of technology for the Red Herring, then worked as a Web reporter for UC Berkeley's Public Affairs office. She has written for Grist, Edible San Francisco, the Transcript, Wired, the San Francisco Chronicle, the New York Times, Mother Jones, and elsewhere. Bonnie has a B.A. in English from the College of William & Mary and an M.A. in fiction from the University of East Anglia.
